Real Conversations for Women Who’ve Outgrown Performative Inspiration
I’m Tami Merl—a 60+ woman of color, late-bloomer entrepreneur, and speaker who shows up exactly as I am. I talk about beauty, aging, self-worth, shame, and starting over—not from a theory, but from lived experience.
Bring me to your event to spark real conversations.
About Me
I started Signing New Chapters as a way to speak to and encourage other women in a similar place in life.
I’m a woman of color in my 60s, currently breaking free from the traditional family path so many of us were expected to follow.
Before I ever held a microphone, I launched my own notary and loan signing business—which I still run today. That business taught me how to build trust fast, carry myself with confidence, and serve people in critical moments. It became my training ground. And over time, my clients and community began saying, “You need to be speaking.” So I listened.
Through this platform, I aim to help women find community, support, and understanding by embracing their unique interests and choosing their own path—no matter their stage in life. I believe in erasing the stereotypes and stigmas placed on women of color, especially around beauty, aging, and cosmetic surgery.
You Deserve More Than Polished and Forgettable
Too many speakers play it safe.
They give you inspiration, but no honesty. It’s all style, no substance. I’ve sat in those rooms, too.
Women are dealing with real stuff.
Shame around beauty. Confusion around aging. Wanting more from life after 50—but feeling selfish for saying it out loud.
You need someone who sees you.
I built my own business after raising a family. I trademarked a message that so many women connected with—especially those who’ve relied on their looks, intentionally or not, and now feel uncertain when aging or the mirror shifts that story. I speak to that moment, because I’ve lived it.
My Goal? Help Women Feel Seen—Not Judged
When I speak, I tell the truth. And the truth is, you’re not alone for wanting something different—even if you’re 40, 50, 60+. I’m here to give language to what you’ve been feeling for years.

Pretty Girl Syndrome™ Isn’t Just a Talk. It’s a Mirror.
Pretty Girl Syndrome™ speaks to women who have relied on their looks to gain advantages in life—both intentionally and unintentionally. But what happens when the mirror changes, or the attention fades? Confidence wavers. And questions you never expected to ask start creeping in.
This message gives women permission to feel what they feel. It works to erase the shame around wanting to feel beautiful, or choosing to change your appearance with surgery. You don’t have to apologize for wanting to feel pretty—at any age.
Let’s Talk About Black Don’t Crack
In my community, cosmetic work is taboo. There’s pride in aging naturally—but there’s also shame for wanting change. I speak directly to the women who feel torn between cultural pride and personal choice.
I’ve had women whisper, “I want to do something, but I don’t want anyone to know.” I help bring those whispers into the light—with zero judgment. This session is honest, healing, and needed.
